Identify a role model working in the career of your choice: geographic location can vary, think outside of the box, you get out of it what you put into it. Pend a day (cid:862)on the job(cid:863) (cid:449)ith that person. Acquire knowledge of the career that will facilitate professional development. It creates and experience that can be seen, heard, smelled, tasted, and touched: provides tangible evidence of what is required to be successful in your career of choice. Usually it is the step before an extended internship: considered to be full time work experience. Work with your academic advisor or course instructor to identify your career goals and make a list of people who are working in that area. Contact the person by phone or in person to inquire about shadowing: be able to discuss why he or she should do this for you, ex) it is required for a course. Set up a date, time, and place to meet.
