(not necessarily mutually exclusive) (cid:12254) (cid:12254) Institutional: existing institutions may encourage violence or constrain human action, creating a violent backlash. Ideational: ideas may justify or promote the use of violence. Both of these have a greater tolerance for violence. (cid:12254) Individual (psychological factors): psychological or strategic factors may lead people to carry out violence. Sense of inclusion that outcast people are looking for. ex. "the public seizure of the state in order to overturn the existing government and regime. " Connotation: revolution generally has more positive tone; evokes progress. Public: revolutions about people in the streets who want change.
