Offset printing (most popular: sheet-fed process. Letterpress: time-honored, elegant, depth and character, great for heavy and exotic stocks, invitations, announcements, business cards. Digital printing: short runs, variable data (personalized, one-to-one, very good quality, some in-line finishing, affordable. T-shirts, bags, etc: irregular surfaces, photographic and flat-color art. Flexography: packaging, irregular surfaces, photographic and flat-color art. Process colors (cmyk: cyan, magenta, yellow, black ink. Color models: tint- adding white to a pure hue, shade- adding black to a pure hue, tone- adding grey o a pure hue. Additive color: rgb (web, cmyk (print) Hex codes: translational of rgb for browsers. Easy on the eye: split complementary. Triadic can be garrish: double complementary (or tetradic) Rules of color: convey information, symbolism, context is key, simultaneous contrast: colors appear more brilliant set against a black background, assist in mnemonic value, understand limitations. The mccullough effect: the eyes seek complement of colors by creating the sensation of them.
