Ifsp: focuses on the child within the context of the family. Infants have not developed cognitive skills to present ideas and pursue goals through planned action: child behavior and development, purpose, determine the infants current strengths and needs, not: predicting future behavior. Assessment #1: parent child communications: turning in, child sick and can"t participate in reciprocal interactions, coming out, baby no longer acutely ill, becomes responsive to environment, begin to benefit from interactions with parents, reciprocity. Infant states: deep sleep, not good for interaction, light sleep, babies not ready to interact, drowsy, baby may be aroused to more responsive states, quiet alter, provding something for baby to look at, listen, or maintain this state. Idela for interaction: active state, cuddle baby bring to less aroused state, crying, child has reached limit, needs to be consoled or fed, parent-child communication management, tips.
