MATH 2250 Lecture Notes - Lecture 15: Hypotenuse, 2Pm
Document Summary
Extended o ce hours: wed 2pm - 4pm, thu, 12pm - 1:45pm. Test 3 review: know your four indeterminate forms. Be able to come up with a function that satis es each form. (you may be asked for a function, etc. See practice test. : know your indeterminate powers. See note from above: be able to compute a limit using l"hopital"s rule. You might have to take natural log to compute limit. Remember to always check to see if the rule applies. Section 4. 1: min/max on a closed interval: given any function, be able to compute its critical points. You do this by evaluating your original function at its critical points and its endpoints. Possible candidates are when f (x) = 0 or when f (x) is unde ned, but it (1) must be where the graph changes concavity and (2) an actual point on the graph of your original function. You will have two optimization questions on your test.
