Things that alter blood volume: removing h2o from the body decreases blood volume. Adh stimulates the kidneys distal tubules to recapture h2o in urine passing through the tubules. Adh is secreted in response to dehydration & stimulates water reabsorption by the kidneys, additionally, adh induces fusion of aquaporin containing vesicles with the plasma membrane. Renal tubules that are permeable to water but not permeable to salt include: descending limb of loop of henle and medullary collecting ducts.
