Basically the monarch gave them the power to organize each individual colony"s government and simply enforced regulation based legislation upon them such as import and export taxation. Colonial rule was incredibly lax in nature on the part of the monarch because it allowed the colonies to have a great freedom in ruling themselves. The colonies had limited influence of the monarch in whole and organized highly sophisticated government through legislation and often bicameral legislature.
