Removal part of original thick mantle by giant impact or by strong disk heating, vapor, and: mercury"s large core (mechanisms) solar winds, core structure and mag fields, surface. No liquid outer core so no mag fields. Shock waves made 6 concentric rings: volcano on mercury, ice on mercury, water ice. Due to solar winds: atm, mariner, messenger.
