Expectations, you must pick that way of thinking somewhere, sometime. The body of knowledge that a society possesses exists at the level of the community. Different people will have different skill sets, not one person will know how to do everything. The sacred canopy 1967: nomos: the most all-encompassing picture of reality that a human society can create. Cultures unified theory of everything: anomy: emotional state that happens when something undermines your nomos, makes your worldview less than certain.
