No one can place civilized norms unless it is a great power. Cold war was bipolarity (us and ussr) Goal is to become the strongest point. Unilateral-alone and preemptive without council of others. The way to secure safety and power internationally is the spread of democracy. We preach that we have the perfect system but we are becoming increasingly critical of our own system. A combination of kissingerian realism and democratic globalism.
