A ten-day-old puppy or kitten is in the neonatal period. They are both blind and deaf when they"re born, so their eyes and ears are not open. Cats enter the socialization person at about two weeks old, and it lasts until they"re 7 weeks old, but it can extend until 10 weeks old. For dogs, their socialization period is at about 3-4 weeks old to about 12 weeks old. This period is very vital to an animal"s development because it is the first time that they are able to socialize with their litter and the environment around them. Describe how the position or appearance of these body parts differ depending on whether a cat is relaxed versus when he/she is frightened. When assessing a cat"s posture/body language, you should observe their tail for tucking or swishing, their back for posture and hair, and their ears for furrowing for flatness.
