Internally caused - those that are believed to be under the personal control of the individual: externally caused - resulting from outside causes. Fundamental attribution error: we have a tendency to underestimate the influence of external factors and overestimate the influence of internal or personal factors. Individuals attribute their own successes to internal factors. Peer"s failure due to their inabilities & my success due to my super talent! Will you invest an additional million in an r&d project when you know that: Project is not promising since a competitor already has a superior project but project is 90% complete.
