If we follow the traditional pattern of working, marrying, and having a family. Seek wide assortment of activities - balance. Personal identity and career path still developing. Finding a mate can be a priority, although single life is more accepted today. Having a child changes it even more. Being childless is more common, but not norm. For those with children - social activities often become more home focused. As children become involved in organized programs -> they become parents leisure as well. Can cause family and leisure time to suffer. Participation in high risk and strenuous activities often stops/ declines because too much responsibility - not worth it mentality. Feel limited time left to find meaning in life. Many regret time spent at work + not family/ leisure.
