He bets sky masterson, another gambler, that he cannot take sarah brown, a missionary, on a date. Sky tells sarah he will bring 12 sinners to her mission if she goes out with him. She was recently told her mission will be shut down if she does not get more people to come in, so she accepts the deal. When they return, they see gamblers coming out of the mission, and sarah thinks sky took her out just to e(cid:373)pty the (cid:373)issio(cid:374) so they (cid:272)ould ga(cid:373)(cid:271)le.
