Document Summary

Quinn"s older adults and social media: foreshadowing challenges of the digital future examines older adults social media use and how it compares to younger users, as well as hypothesize about the future use of the digital future. Using other studies and findings she compares the different generations and how their usage differs. Comparative studies show that older users spend less time on social media platforms than younger users. Older users are also less likely to share photos or status updates. However, older adults are more likely to interact directly with individuals online. (p. 9-10) as time goes on these studies reveal that social media technologies will continue to play an important role in interpersonal connection and evolve as such. I definitely agree with most of these findings and have personally experienced many older family members getting various social media accounts. One thing i have to disagree with however is that older adults don"t create as much shared content.
