Crossed different strains of purebred plants and studied their progeny. This work illustrated the basic rules of inheritance. Looked at different traits like seed shape, pod shape, pod color, flower color, flower potion and stem length. Dominant traits are expressed even in the presence of a recessive allele. Dd, dd both dominant because d is present. Dominant alleles are not better, they are just passed on depending of the alleles. Occur at the locus on a pair of chromosomes and influence the same trait. Dd, dd, dd this is the genotype for a particular trait. Dd, dd has dimples dd no dimples environment can change these expressions to some degree. Monogenic trait is determined by just one gene. Shows that . 25 of the plants will have tt, . 5 will have tt, and . 25 will have tt. Only passing one allele onto the next generation so mendel saw that they separated and they would show up in later generations.
