HIS 100 Lecture Notes - Lecture 11: Karen Barber, The Roots, Random House
Document Summary
I do expect that you are going to write essays that reflect your own responses to the questions/prompts provided. I also expect that your analysis, observations and arguments shall be supported with the evidence from assigned readings, films and any other relevant sources. I expect that you cite all your sources of information/evidence using the chicago. Use footnotes for in-text citations and then provide a bibliography (list of works cited) at the end of the essay. Should be numbered sequentially throughout the essay in arabic numerals and placed at the foot of each page. Must be embedded in the text (i. e. any footnote additions or deletions will automatically change all the footnote references throughout the paper to accommodate the changes). Should generally be confined to citations of sources and brief points. The development of sub-themes in footnotes should be avoided. All works/authors referred to in the text should be cited in full in the footnotes.
