Culture: a set of human made elements shared among those with a common language who lived in the same time and place. Objective elements of culture: dress, media outlets, buildings, tools (technology for making fabrics) Subjective elements of culture: values, norms, association, stratification, social norms, stereotypes, and prejudices. Complex culture: people make a large number of distinctions among objects and events in their environment. Simple: agriculture society slow pace lifestyle; fewer dress choices than complex. Complex: industrial and information based societies; greater dress choices than simple. Tight cultures: have clear norms and deviations lead to sanctions.
