ANATOMY 403 Lecture Notes - Lecture 3: Temporal Lobe, Choroid Plexus, Somatosensory System
Document Summary
Inside part of central sulcus: limbic lobe, remove brain stem & diencephalon, bound by cingulate sulcus & collateral sulcus. Inferior horn: temporal: third, located in the diencephalon, septum pellucidum, csf drains through those landmarks ^ into third ventricle. Intraventricular foramen: cerebral aqueduct in midbrain, 4th ventricle in pons/medulla, continue onto become spinal cord, cerebral aqueduct, medial aperture (one, lateral recess, lateral aperatures (two, only place csf can leak to subarachnoid space, contains choroid plexus, produces csf. Increase [na+], [cl-: ultra-filtrate of plasma, degrease [mg+], [ca2+], glucose, very little protein, almost no cells, prevents weight of brain from pressing nerves & blood vessels. @ base of skull: flow of csf, secreted by choroid plexus into ventricles, laterals, iv foramen, third, cerebral aqueducts, fourth, lateral apertures. Into subarachnoid space: through foramina of luschka found in lateral recesses, foramen of magendie, circulates in subarachnoid space around cns. Into venous blood stream through arachnoid granulations into dural sinuses.
