Judah"s story is (cid:373)ore a(cid:271)out human existence rather than divine providence with the exception of the death of this two sons: both sons died after marrying the same women. The (cid:449)o(cid:373)e(cid:374) i(cid:374) judah"s story gets fed up (cid:449)ith ho(cid:449) judah treats her after (cid:271)oth of his so(cid:374)s die and she leaves and dresses like a canaanite prostitute and then judah gets her pregnant. He almost was going to kill her, but did not. Potiphar"s (cid:449)ife (cid:373)akes a pass at joseph(cid:449)he(cid:374) he refuses she a(cid:272)(cid:272)uses hi(cid:373) of rape. A similar scene occurs in several works of literature: glau(cid:272) us" a(cid:374)(cid:272)estor belleropho(cid:374) (cid:894)the iliad, greek tragedy. Poetic justice: joseph was always a tattletale, but his boss (potiphar), trusts him and he does not want to risk upsetting him by telling the truth about the events with his wife.
