Kikuyu put into reserves, and some will become squatters on white-owned territory resistance to land appropriation took form of squatter peasant resistance in terms of destroying crops, farm machinery, cattle raids and killing, sabotaging production on the plantation. 1895, named kamau wa ngemyi, kikuyu attended presbyterian mission school, baptised w/ baptismal name: johnston kamau.
