Deportation of jews from france: france 1942. Anne frank went into hiding in july 1942 in the secret annex. Put into order: german invasion of ussr 1942, warsaw ghetto uprising 1943, deportation of hungarian jews 1944. More jews were murdered in auschwitz when the germans were losing opposed to when they were winning the war. Deportations to auschwitz: most of the holocaust memoirs are from people in auschwitz because there were so many people that survived it. Also, the camp functioned as a labor camp and a death camp. While people who were sent to camps like treblinka were automatically sent to the gas chambers: 1. 2 to 1. 6 million people were killed in auschwitz. These people were on the train for weeks where many people got sick or died. Later they would be able to fit 2,000 people per chamber.
