I have not thought about it much, but i do consider words to have meaning. When i hear a word, i associate it with other things and have a picture of what it is and what it is either used for or means . I feel like this is hard to explain without using the wording meaning, but when i hear most words that i internally interpret it to be something. That"s what i think meaning relates to: a common understanding. As far as source, i think that can vary depending on the situation. Our society does not have the same pool of words as other countries that speak different languages or have different lifestyles. However, there are shared words between communities that i think solidify the meaning of words. Therefore, there can be many sources that influence one another and help shape words over time.
