They took african-american men in the south with syphilis and said they were treating them but were actually just researching how it developed. After they started the study and found the cure - antibiotics. They didn"t give the cure to those populations, and instead said they were treating them when they weren"t, they were being studies in stead. Helped lead to the creation of consent forms in studies. Black communities have little trust for the medical.
