Document Summary
Exam 1 lecture review: self-talk success there"s a growing body of research to indicate that self- talk can help memory recall, confidence, focus, and more. In the study the researcher randomly divided 40 adults into two groups. He had all 40 adults (one at a time in a separate room) review a short list of common grocery store items. Those assigned to group 1 (outloud) had to say the name of the item out loud, while those assigned to group 2 (silent) were instructed to remain silent and keep the words in their head. After this task was completed, each subject was presented with photographs of many grocery store items, all that were on the list and many that were not. The photos are spread out in front of them in a grid. They then had to find those items that were on the list by looking at photographs.
