Rate of natural increase (rni): the percentage of annual growth in a population excluding migration. Tend to be higher in developing world countries. Preindustrial, natural increase rate is low, until (cid:899)(cid:905)5(cid:898) Stage 2 country: saudi arabia, pakistan, kenya, guatemala. Early industrial, rate of natural increase is high, (cid:899)(cid:905)5(cid:898)-1880. Late industrial, natural increase rate is declining, (cid:899)(cid:906)(cid:906)(cid:898)-1970.
