Site: the physical characteristics of a place, such as its topography, vegetation, and water resources; a space with meaning. Situation: the geographic context of a place, including its political, economic, social, or other characteristics. Europe+asia, has european aspect to it but also an eastern turkish twist when it comes to thought, food, interaction, etc. Absolute: think of a container; think of a closed space. Ystair-stepping from one level or rank to another. Complementarity: activities like manufacturing in china have lower labor rates, but where apple is based in silicon valley, they can capitalize on their brain power but not have to worry about the means to make technologic devices. Intervening opportunities: corporations taking advantage of cheap labor rates in other countries, or, global activists trying to stop the exploitation of cheap labor rates. Think of social media: messaging and sending things like photos are utterly different now than they were a generation ago.
