A widely shared demand for change in the social or political order, either liberal or conservative. Occupy wall street (does not associates with political parties) strength and weakness is that they do not have to compromise with a group. More extreme organizations will be smaller and more activist. More people who take action on a regular basis. More extreme actions attract the media, and get more done. More moderate organizations will be larger and less activist. Influence- tend to be short lived in the us. Absorbed by the party system: teat party is influenced by the republicans. Influence agenda/opinion: influence, perceived negatively, in actuality, lobbyist may go and gain access to political figures, they wish to change of agenda. Consultations: need people that others can go to/leads others, trustworthy, powerful figure. Recruitment: bring others to your side, defining a group that was previously not defined, no previous union for that group. Visibility/protests/ activities: things that people do to get noticed.
