World politics: liberal and marxist arguments for imperialism. It is unique for market capitalism: different than political, conservative, and social psych theories ii) time bound to the modern period (1500 on, market capitalism leads to increased concentration of income. This means capital is favored over labor. Rewards ow to the owners of capital, and the countries they live in: a system of capitalism rewards the effective use of capital. Basically the rich are favored over the poor i) this is due purely to their access to capital: underconsumption always has to be addressed, because of the misery of depression. 2) to save capital: this system of capitalism has lead to a period of great injustice in the world. Ex: 62 americans have as much wealth as half the globe (3. 5 b people) Ex: mexican drug cartels shipping drugs across the border to the us. Ex: rich businessmen keeping their money in offshore accounts.
