When do we Stop Playing
Players often run into many hardships not only on the court but also off the court.
These hardships may sometimes be personal and therefore also make it quite difficult for
them to carry out and play a game. We have seen in the passed that sporting events have
been cancelled due to some crisis. We have also seen games played during a time of
crisis. For example the Dallas Cowboys game the day President JFK was show. However,
when do we decide when a certain crisis is bad enough to cancel a game?
There are three types of crises that we encounter in the sports world. There are
personal conflicts such as a player loosing his son or wife. Or there are conflicts that
affect not only the player but also the team, such as the coach or general manager passing
away. Lastly, there are crises that effect that whole nation or a large group of people. In
my opinion games should only really be cancelled if there is a large group of people such
