- There are two types of type 2 muscle fibers (2a and 2b)
- 2a simply uses more oxygen than 2b
- Description: Type 2 fibers are used for fast activity
- They are white
-glycolysis is used
Type 2 B
- These fibers are also used for fast activity
- They get tired faster than both type 1 and 2a fibers
- Very low use of oxygen
- Small amount of capillaries
Type 2 a
- Do not get tired as easily as type 2b fibers
- Get more tired than type 1 fibers
- More enzymes are used aerobically
- More mitochondria is used as well
- Has more capillaries than type 2 b fibers
