Post-1850s: expanding american-made contraceptives: rubber condoms, intrauterine devices, douching syringes, womb veils (diaphrams and cervical caps), male caps. Contraceptives could be purchased from: mail-order houses, wholesale drug-supply houses, pharmacies, dry-goods, rubber vendors. Established frims and respected physicians and druggists also distributed contraceptives.
