Movie studios and star system - receiving fan mail, studios would promote stars to sell movies. Change appearance in a rags to riches stories where relationships were fabricated. Distribution - stars go on television shows and promote. Exhibition - when they go out and perform their skill. Brand identity - some celebs draw negative reactions unrelated to their talent.
