Behavioral influences: conditioned and unconditioned responses that result from environmental stimuli. Biological influences: many people react to stressful situations by becoming distressed, having increased heart rate and blood pressure. Biological responses may be genetic and therefore, may trigger coping mechanisms to compensate. Severity of the reaction can result from a variety of factors. Emotional influences: emotions often affect the body in physical ways such as the increase in blood pressure from stress, heart rate from fear, among others.
