▪ Refers to the direct object of a sentence – a person, thing, or idea.
▪ English equivalent: what, which, whom, that
▪ Ex. La maison était dans ce village. Elle aimait la maison. → La maison qu’elle
aimait était dans ce village.
o Où
▪ Refers to places or expression of time
▪ English equivalent: where, when, that
▪ Ex. Voilà le café où j’ai recontré Serge. Thee’s the café whee I et Sege
