Places exert strong influence over people"s well-being, opportunities, and lifestyle choices. Places are sites of innovation and change of resistance and conflict. The loss of place diversity wherein the meaning of a place is stripped. Place is very flexible a term that is individual to some extent (ex: south and home) Location is precise and has a precise meaning (ex: university mall and granville) Site is used to describe the location of a place the physical characteristics of a place (ex: Situation is the location of a place in relation to other places (ex: on the beach by the shore or on the corner by the house) Space: refers to the physical gap or interval between two objects. Distance: a fundamental spatial concept and is the amount of interaction between any two places is inversely related to the distance between them, and directly related to the size (gravity model)
