It matters if our data is good because we want to make sure it is accurate. Iq test is more valid than looking at the number of hours you spend in the library: types of validity, face validity- how accurately you are you measuring what you think you are measuring at first glance. Ex: publix selling ____ bananas based on the hurricane: criterion validity- when the conclusions from the data are compared to criterion data collected later. Ex: sat predict college performance then have to wait until after. Don"t know how valid it is until after collect the other crieta: content validity- the degree to which a measure covers the range of meanings included within a concept. Reliability- measurement methods that suggests that the same data would have been collected either way: replication- repeating an experiment or study to expose or reduce an error.
