Document Summary
Resumes are the single most important document when you walk off this campus. Our field is so broad that you might have to have multiple resumes. One page: smaller corporations need recreation resumes. Education is at the top of the resume. Don"t do: summary section because that is what the cover letter is for, no color in resumes, no highlights section because your resume is the highlights, no profile section, break up jobs or volunteer experiences. Must mess with margins: never double sized, never staple or paper clip. Nix"s rules for writing resumes: add everything relevant. Don"t limit to 1 page because you have done the work you have done the volunteer. Second and third pages must be of the way down the page. Ex: 1 pages, 2 pages, etc: no objective or summary reason why we write cover letters, no hobbies/interests section unless it is applicable.
