The paperwork originates with the lighting designer and lighting technical. Staff: designer think in groups and channels means electricians has to look through the paperwork to figure out what light the designer is talking about. This is why we have to be on top of paperwork. Types of paperwork: instrument plot- a to-scale floor plan displays every lighting fixture and practical unit required to light the production. It looks down on top of the stage area from above the lighting positions: light plot- another floor plan of the stage that displays where the individual fixtures will be focused. This is a way of planning out the physical design and control for lighting. Normally circles or ovals that represent the space that actors will be performing in.
