Increased ability in ne motor skills: writing improves and becomes smaller ad neater. Fine motor skills will reach adult maturity by end of middle childhood. Preoperational stage would day that the ball is in the box. 0-2: sensorimotor -- capable of coordinating the activities of the sense with motor activities. 2-7: preoperational -- capable of symbolic representation, such as in language, but with limited ability to use mental operations.
