Women pushed out of medicine and science. Women"s health movement expanded women"s involvement in health sciences and their bodies. Commodified- women health center can sometimes advertize plastic surgery. Critique is: everything is becoming health because it becomes broad i. e. Narrow thought of women"s health being only reproduction. Going to the idea that women can only have children. Process of turning life processes like childbirth and menopause into medical issues. (in the glossary) Something that used to be a normal everyday part of life that doesn"t need medical background but now changes into a profession ex: birth at home with midwife now to hospital. Examples include menopause, reproductive technologies, menopause and mental health. Involves intersectionality because it differs from each women in what health problems they are, they"re treatment and sources. Preventable differences in the burden of disease injury and violence in the disparities of health in the lower areas of life.
