*research is focused on india: mostly women cooking around the fire with their young children, men are outside or in the other room and removed from smoke. World-wide issue; people all over the world cook using wood in order to burn for the fuel: global story but it is not everywhere the same. In anthropology we don"t really think about everyone in the same group. Deforestation- millions of people go out to get wood in order to cook- Forests will come back as long as humans step back and stop taking from the forests: the trees are gone, the local economy is weak. But for the most part women don"t really use them) Developed first model came back in 6 months. *cant stand outside in the mid-day sun with temperatures at 120 degrees. Design constraints: cook indoors, cook sitting down, mealtimes: 7am and 7pm.
