2. Core-periphery organization of the world system: the world is divided
into powerful countries and nonpowerful countries There is a hierarchy
of countries. The US is at the top of the global world system, in terms of
the size of economy. The desire is to continue to stay on top.
3. Desire to spread the separation of church and state around the world
4. In most major religions, buying too much stuff is a sin. (however, that is
a good thing in the economy)
