Williams believes toxic gmo plants exist; says few share this viewpoint because gmo companies are usually their employers and are paid to keep quiet. Other are on both sides, say the benefits of gmos greatly outweigh the health risks. Positives of gmos: lowered price of food, incrased farmer safety through less pesticides, raised output of crops, saves lives with more food. Lots of countries ban gm foods, even though this is killing lots of ppl in their country from starvation. Pro gmo: technology is precise, so less likely for unexpected health threats from new plants. No illness has ever been recorded from eating gmos, rather, people get sick from eating organic crops. Middle ground: continue gmo foods but step up safety research. Gmo are key to next wave of advances in ag and health. Conventional breeding has been going on for some time, but genetically engineering is new.
