## Document Summary

Compartments defined by regions of genomes that interact frequently with each other or don"t interact so frequently with each other. Can use statistical tool (eg. pca) to analyse heat map to see whether identifiable interactions occur more/less frequently than expected. > accounts for how far apart interactions are. > long range interactions = high frequency interactions. > pca comes out with map that shows +ve (more than expected interactions) values or. Pearson correlation coefficient map tells us how similar/related the interactions are in the system by using the correlation coefficient. Normalised distance map shows normalised distance between interactions (no interactions on diagonal because that"s how distance is normalised) -> red = low distance, blue = high distance between interactions. Pirincipal component coefficient graph done using pca, red = interactions that occur more frequently than expected (+ve, compartment a), blue = interactions that occur less frequently than expected (-ve, compartment b)
