The rst pharmacopeia was published in 1820 and was a precursor to the usp. Apha was the rst pharmacy organization in 1852. In the 20th century, the compounding focus switched to standardization. Now pharmacists are starting clinical practices- with pharm. d. as the entry level degree. There are 3 types of sources: primary, secondary, and tertiary. Secondary is review articles that summarize the primary literature, or indexing services. Tertiary is a major summary of broad topics including reference books. Resources include the library, pubmed, interlibrary loan, etc.
