Representaions of the body controlled by neurons in the primary motor cortex. Hands, lips, and tongue are disproporionately represented in the primary and somatosensory motor corices. Secions of the brain can be enlarged by exercising that strip o. Ex: violin player will have more of their somatosensory and motor corices devoted to the hands than a normal person. When you see people making movements towards a goal, you imagine making the movement yourself. Sounds are created when objects vibrate - causing the surrounding medium to also vibrate, changing the pressure in the medium o o o o o. Compression and rareicaion cycle causes sound to be transmited through waves. Graph of air pressure is a sine wave. Speed of sound through water: 1500 m/s (the more molecules there are, the faster it goes, but not as far) Eg rocks will transmit sound faster than water.
