Bud off cisternae of er, have proteins within them, and then they fuse with cis face of golgi. Vesicles get budded off on trans face and the proteins are biologically active. Eventually fuses with plasma membrane to be released. Can also remain in vesicles in the cell. Vesicles that contain enzymes that will digest proteins and cell components. Remain in the cytoplasm as soluble proteins.
