Ck: didn"t tell his family he was writing the script until it was actually going to go into production. It"s tricky to write/direct a story about your life (can fall into a lot of traps). Was trying to make a movie, not recreate his life/make a documentary. Key moments were true, but then would invent some elements around it. Real memories began to merge with the film. Wasn"t sure if he could direct it/anyone would be interested in working on the film. A lot of people took a risk to work on the film. Adam scott: he and his wife had just started a production company. As: we created it out of necessity. Did a series of specials for adult swim.
