Manner in which it is pitched is varied (selling concept: narrowed down, pitched to development team, more intimidating when you show directors & writers, john lannister gets final word/decision. Leo m: tried to tell story as fast as possible, but as good as possible. Leo m: some are only 3 seconds. Had a minimum requirement so it would be able to understand. Leo m: film turned out the way he wanted it. Wanted it to be cinematic in the way that the camera is moved around. Leo m: zootopia was the priority so inner workings was put on hold. Struggled with how to not make it a love story. It was initially going to go the direction of a love story: heart (organ) is always associated with love, wanted to do something different. Leo m: full japanese, born & raised in brazil.
